Game Brick uses the classic falling-block puzzle format where the player builds complete horizontal lines from differently shaped pieces. There is no story, exploration, or character progression. Each round takes place on a vertical grid, with new blocks appearing at the top and falling toward the existing stack. The goal is to keep the board from filling while earning as many points as possible through efficient line clears.
Move and Rotate the Pieces
Each falling shape can be shifted left or right before it reaches the bottom of the board. The player can also rotate pieces to change how they fit into available gaps and use a faster drop when the correct position has already been chosen. Once a piece lands, it becomes part of the stack and cannot be moved again. Planning therefore involves both the current shape and the spaces being created for later pieces.
Clear Complete Lines
A horizontal row disappears when every cell in it is filled. The blocks above then move downward, creating additional space for the next pieces. Clearing several lines efficiently is more useful than filling the board with isolated gaps that later shapes cannot reach.
The main actions include:
- moving falling blocks left or right;
- rotating pieces before they land;
- speeding up their descent;
- filling complete horizontal rows;
- clearing lines to create more room;
- building combinations for a higher score.
As the stack grows, mistakes become increasingly difficult to repair. A single empty cell buried beneath several layers can remain inaccessible for a long time, so leaving open routes for narrow pieces is an important part of successful play.
Keep the Stack Under Control
Game Brick does not rely on conventional levels with enemies or separate locations. The challenge comes from keeping the playfield usable while blocks continue to arrive. In some versions, the falling speed increases as the round progresses, reducing the amount of time available for positioning and rotation.
Long runs depend on creating flat surfaces, avoiding unnecessary holes, and recognizing useful placements before the piece reaches the bottom. The rules remain simple throughout: arrange the shapes, complete rows, clear space, and continue until the growing stack reaches the top of the grid.
