Geography Through Personal Stories
The mystery guest provides eight short video clues, which players can reveal one at a time. Early clips contain general information that might apply to several countries. Later videos introduce details that help narrow the possibilities. The final clue displays the country’s outline. Players must distinguish between the guest’s current residence and their cultural origins, since these locations are not necessarily the same.
How Many Clues Do You Really Need?
Originle rewards players who can identify a country without revealing every available hint. The scoring system begins at 10,000 points, but the potential reward decreases when additional clues are opened. Incorrect answers also reduce the remaining score.
The main gameplay features include:
- Daily challenges featuring real people.
- Eight progressively easier video clues.
- Three official guesses per puzzle.
- An interactive globe for selecting countries.
- Distance information after incorrect answers.
- Points based on accuracy and clue usage.
- An archive of previously available puzzles.
Using the Map to Narrow Your Options
After an incorrect guess, the game indicates how far the selected country is from the correct answer. This helps players reconsider their choices geographically. The globe also allows possible locations to be marked without immediately submitting them as official guesses.
To play, start the daily challenge and watch the opening interview. Look for references to languages, regional customs, geography, or traditional dishes. Choose a country when you have enough information, or reveal another clue if several possibilities remain. If all three attempts are unsuccessful, the closest guess can still earn points. Originle has no enemies, upgrades, or timed combat. The main challenge is interpreting cultural information and making accurate geographic decisions with limited clues.
