Beautiful Light is a tactical extraction shooter set in a hostile post-apocalyptic world where supernatural anomalies and human squads compete for valuable artifacts. The main Raid mode places six teams of three operators into the same area alongside six player-controlled monsters. Operators enter with their own equipment, search for objectives and artifacts, and then try to escape alive. Dying means losing the gear brought into the raid, so deciding when to continue searching and when to extract is an important part of every match.

Dying means losing the gear brought into the raid, so deciding when to continue searching and when to extract is an important part of every match.

Enter the Zone and Secure an Artifact

Each raid takes place on a detailed map containing obstacles, hazards, loot, and information about the world. Operator squads can complete quests or focus on locating the main artifact. Artifacts have different properties and are valuable enough that several teams may fight over the same one. If another squad reaches it first, players can intercept them before extraction and attempt to take it for themselves.

Operators and Anomalies Play Differently

Human operators rely on firearms, protective gear, tactical lights, lasers, night vision, gadgets, and careful team movement. Anomalies have the opposite objective: hunt operators and prevent them from escaping with the artifact. Killing and consuming humans provides experience that can improve abilities and unlock additional anomaly types.

Players can:

  • enter raids as part of a three-person squad;
  • search maps for artifacts and quest objectives;
  • fight rival operators;
  • use tactical equipment and firearms;
  • call an extraction helicopter with a flare;
  • play as an anomaly and hunt human teams;
  • complete quests and improve character skills.

Extraction Determines Whether the Raid Succeeds

Beautiful Light does not use traditional numbered campaign levels. Its main progression comes from repeated raids, quests, artifacts, traders, equipment, and an RPG-like skill tree. Successful extractions provide resources that can be used to purchase weapons and prepare stronger loadouts for later missions.

A typical match begins with choosing equipment and entering an intervention area with two teammates. The squad explores, searches for objectives, fights enemies, and decides whether obtaining the artifact is worth the additional risk. Once ready to leave, players call an extraction helicopter and must survive until it arrives. Beautiful Light focuses on tactical shooting, resource risk, squad coordination, artifact hunting, asymmetric monster gameplay, and deciding when to stop fighting and escape.
