Dating Killmulator turns a dating sim into a dark comedy about romance, bad decisions, and people who are difficult to trust. The player controls a female protagonist moving through a surreal story filled with unusual dates, emotional conflicts, murder, and characters with very different personalities. The game does not follow one fixed romantic route from beginning to end. Instead, choices determine which relationships develop, how scenes change, and which ending the player eventually reaches.
Characters and Relationship Routes
The story is built around multiple routes, with each major character bringing a different type of relationship and conflict. The cast includes a serial killer, a popular guy, a psychologist, and other characters whose behavior ranges from awkward to dangerous. The game uses comedy and satire while also focusing on toxic relationship patterns, red flags, and the consequences of ignoring them. Dialogue choices can make the protagonist get closer to someone, create distance, or push the story toward a completely different direction.
Choices, Minigames, and Story Events
The main gameplay is based on visual novel decisions, but the game also includes smaller interactive sections. During play, the player can:
- choose dialogue responses;
- move through different romantic routes;
- complete minigames;
- trigger alternative scenes;
- make decisions that lead to different endings;
- unlock story content connected to individual characters;
- revisit earlier choices through the save system.
Recent updates also added the option to skip most minigames, so players who want to focus mainly on the story can move through those sections more quickly.
Chapters and Multiple Endings
Dating Killmulator does not use traditional action levels. Progress is organized through chapters and branching story routes, with decisions carrying forward into later scenes. The game contains around eight to nine hours of free story content, with additional optional content available separately. Because routes can split and choices matter, one playthrough does not reveal every possible relationship or ending.
Playing mainly requires reading conversations, deciding how the protagonist should respond, and judging whether the people around her are worth trusting. There is no combat system, open map, or equipment progression. The challenge is narrative: understanding the characters, noticing warning signs, and deciding whether to continue a relationship, walk away, or make a choice that causes the situation to become even more chaotic. Different decisions can lead to romance, regret, or disaster, making replaying routes an important part of seeing the full story.
