Returning to the city puts the player in the role of an Underboss trying to rebuild a damaged criminal family and uncover the truth behind his father’s death. The Grand Mafia combines a long story campaign with real-time strategy, territory control, resource management, and battles between rival families. Instead of controlling one character through individual missions, the player develops an entire criminal organization, expands a mansion, trains Associates, recruits Enforcers, and gradually takes control of more of the city.

Build Your Criminal Empire

The Mansion acts as the center of progression. Buildings can be upgraded to improve training, defenses, production, and other parts of the organization. Resources such as Cash, Cargo, Arms, Metal, and Diamonds are needed for development, so keeping production active is as important as preparing for battles. Research and Underboss skills provide additional bonuses that can be adjusted depending on whether the current goal is growth, defense, or attacking another Turf.

Recruit Enforcers and Train Associates

Combat uses several troop categories and a large roster of Enforcers with different skills and attributes. Choosing compatible units and formations can make a major difference when attacking enemy positions or defending territory.

Major progression systems include:

  • Bruisers for direct frontline fighting;
  • Hitmen with different offensive strengths;
  • Bikers focused on mobile attacks;
  • Mortar Cars and other vehicles;
  • more than 100 Enforcers with individual abilities;
  • six formations for adjusting battle setups;
  • equipment and upgrades for improving combat power.

Battles range from smaller attacks against rival Turfs to large conflicts involving entire groups of players. Enforcers can also be used in squad-based encounters, while Associates form the larger armies needed for city warfare.

Join a Faction and Control the City

Faction membership adds another layer to progression. Members can exchange resources, receive protection and bonuses, participate in cooperative events, and coordinate attacks against larger objectives. Major activities include the Battle for City Hall, Governor’s War, and Police Station Attack, where individual strength is less important than timing and cooperation between several players.

The Grand Mafia therefore revolves around continuous expansion rather than traditional numbered levels. Players strengthen the Mansion, train larger armies, recruit better Enforcers, claim territory, and work with a Faction while progressing through the revenge story. The long-term objective is to turn a weakened family into the dominant criminal power in the city.
