Little Big Space Clicker is a short clicker and idle game developed by Lya Mgtt and Yorack. The game was originally created for GMTK Game Jam 2024 and uses a small retro handheld console as its main interface. The objective is to generate gems, purchase upgrades, and gradually unlock space-related items. It was built with Godot and can be played in a browser or on Windows.
Gameplay and Main Objective
At the beginning, the console has very few available functions. Players click its buttons to produce gems, which act as the main currency. Gems are then spent on additional buttons and Space Items. Each Space Item contributes to a progress bar representing the player’s advancement into space. The basic loop consists of generating currency, purchasing upgrades, and increasing gem production until the available progression is completed.
The main gameplay elements include:
- Clicking console buttons to generate gems
- Purchasing additional buttons
- Unlocking Space Items
- Filling the power progress bar
- Buying decorative charms and stickers
- Increasing gem production through upgrades
- Customizing the appearance of the retro console
Progression and Game Structure
Little Big Space Clicker does not have a traditional story with characters, dialogue, quests, or narrative chapters. Its progression is based entirely on the incremental system. There are also no separate levels in the usual sense. Instead, players advance by earning more gems and unlocking increasingly expensive items. New purchases expand what the console can produce, creating a cycle in which each upgrade makes it easier to obtain the next one. The complete game is relatively short, with the official page listing an average session of around half an hour.
How to Play
To play, interact with the buttons displayed on the handheld console. Repeated clicks generate the initial supply of gems. Use these gems to buy new buttons and upgrades rather than spending them without a progression goal. As production increases, purchase Space Items to advance the main progress bar. Charms can also be obtained to decorate the console while providing additional gem income. The game combines active clicking with incremental upgrades, so progress becomes faster as more systems are unlocked.
Little Big Space Clicker focuses on a single compact progression system rather than a long campaign. The goal is to develop the small console from a mostly empty device into a decorated machine capable of producing enough resources to complete its space progression. Once the final upgrades and objectives have been reached, the main gameplay loop is effectively complete.
