Cake Cat: All Caked Up is an arcade score-attack game about a cat collecting cake while avoiding donuts. The objective is to keep moving around the play area, reach as many cakes as possible, and build a higher score before the increasing number of donuts makes survival more difficult. Rather than following a story campaign, the game focuses on short runs, movement, collecting food, and improving a high score.

Collecting Cake and Avoiding Donuts

The basic rules are simple: cakes are targets, while donuts are hazards that should be avoided. More donuts appear as the run continues, reducing the amount of safe space and forcing the player to change direction frequently. Movement is controlled with the arrow keys, and the cat can also use Zoomies with Z. This boost gives the player another movement option when navigating around the growing group of hazards.

Building a Higher Score

Scoring is connected to collecting cakes and maintaining a multiplier. Chaining the multiplier can lead to golden cakes, which provide an opportunity to earn a larger number of points. The game also includes Caked Up Mode, which is tied to this score-focused system. Because the donut horde continually increases, maintaining a scoring chain becomes harder the longer a run lasts.

The main actions are:

  •         use the Arrow Keys to run;
  •         press Z to activate Zoomies;
  •         collect cakes to increase the score;
  •         maintain the multiplier and reach golden cakes;
  •         stay away from the growing number of donuts;
  •         press X to make the cat meow.

The Meow command is separate from the scoring and survival mechanics. According to the developer, pressing X simply makes the cat meow and does not provide an additional gameplay advantage. This leaves movement, boosting, collecting cakes, and avoiding donuts as the systems that determine how long a run continues and how many points the player can accumulate.

Playing for a High Score

Cake Cat: All Caked Up does not use traditional levels, quests, equipment, or character upgrades in its official description. The challenge develops within each score attempt as additional donuts appear and make navigation more difficult. A successful run depends on keeping the cat away from hazards while continuing to collect cakes and preserve scoring opportunities. The result is a repeating arcade loop built around surviving longer, using Zoomies when needed, reaching golden cakes, and trying to finish with a higher score than on previous attempts.
