The merging system follows rules that players can learn through experimentation. For example, combining two man flags produces the gay flag, while combining two woman flags creates the lesbian flag. These results can become ingredients for further discoveries. You interact with the flags on the playing field and try different combinations to determine what they produce. As more identities become available, you have additional possibilities to investigate.

Tracking Your Discoveries

Rather than moving through a series of conventional levels, you work toward completing a catalog of flags. Newly discovered entries are recorded in a collection book, allowing you to return to them without repeating their combinations.

The game includes several activities:

• Experimenting with previously discovered combinations.
• Searching for flags that are still missing from the collection.
• Reading descriptions explaining what different flags represent.
• Using hints to help identify possible combinations.

The Challenge of Finding Missing Flags

Discovering the first few entries is relatively straightforward because there are fewer possible combinations. As the collection grows, however, identifying the remaining flags requires more experimentation. A flag that initially seems to have no further use might become important when combined with another element. Keeping track of previous results can help you decide what to try next.

LGBT Flag Merge also introduces players to identities they may not recognize from their flags alone. The collection includes descriptions that explain their meanings, so discovering a new combination provides additional information beyond its visual appearance.
