Papyrus Fight Simulator focuses on a confrontation from Undertale where a skeleton attempts to capture the human traveling through Snowdin. Papyrus hopes to join the Royal Guard, and defeating the human is his opportunity to prove himself. The game recreates his battle using command-based combat and defensive sequences where players control a heart representing their soul. Unlike a complete adventure, the simulator contains no exploration or additional quests. Its main objective is to survive Papyrus’s attacks and decide how the confrontation should end.
Why the Rules Change During Combat
The encounter introduces two different movement systems. At first, the player’s soul is red and can move freely inside the battle box. Later, Papyrus changes it to blue, causing gravity to affect movement. Players must jump over bone projectiles instead of simply moving around them. The attacks vary in height, speed, and arrangement, requiring players to adjust their jumping rhythm as the fight continues.
Decisions Between Enemy Attacks
Each turn begins with a command menu where players can choose an action before Papyrus attacks again. Fighting is possible, but the encounter can also be resolved without killing him.
The game includes:
- Turn-based combat against Papyrus.
- Red soul movement and blue soul gravity mechanics.
- Bone obstacles with different movement patterns.
- FIGHT and ACT commands for attacking or interacting.
- ITEM options for restoring health.
- MERCY commands for resolving the battle peacefully.
- Dialogue that changes according to selected actions.
Surviving Until Papyrus Gives Up
Movement is controlled with the arrow keys, while Z or Enter confirms menu selections. Press X or Shift to cancel a command. During blue soul attacks, the Up Arrow makes the heart jump, and holding it increases jump height. Players must time their movements to pass over bones without touching them.
Papyrus Fight Simulator has no numbered levels, experience system, or equipment progression. The battle develops through successive turns, with different attacks appearing as Papyrus continues fighting. Players can use healing items when necessary and choose between offensive actions and peaceful interaction. In the original Undertale encounter, Papyrus captures the human instead of killing them when their health reaches zero. Repeated attempts help players learn the attack patterns and complete the encounter without taking unnecessary damage.
