A failed attempt to solve loneliness starts the story of Summon a Sweetheart. Penelope decides to summon an eldritch creature and asks it to become her girlfriend, but the ritual includes a condition she did not prepare for: the summoned woman, Galatea, expects a gift. Penelope must search her messy room for something suitable, and the object she chooses determines what happens next.
Searching the Room for a Gift
Most of the gameplay takes place inside Penelope’s room. Players walk around, inspect furniture and piles of trash, collect possible gifts, and return to Galatea when they are ready to make an offering. Some objects can be given directly, while others can be combined through a small crafting system. There are two special craftable items, so checking the room carefully reveals more possibilities than simply choosing the first object available.
The main gameplay elements include:
- Room exploration and object interaction
- Several possible gifts for Galatea
- 10 different endings
- One “Good” ending, one Neutral ending, and eight Bad endings
- Two craftable gift items
- Dialogue between Penelope and Galatea
- Repeated playthroughs with different choices
- Environmental details connected to Penelope’s situation
Ten Different Outcomes
Summon a Sweetheart does not use traditional numbered levels, combat stages, or character upgrades. Its progression is based on discovering endings. Giving Galatea a wine bottle, water bottle, energy drink, plushie, diary, shirt, protein powder, or one of the crafted items can lead to a different conclusion. Because many endings are short, the game is designed around restarting and experimenting with another gift.
Choosing What Galatea Receives
There are no battles or complicated control systems to learn. The main challenge is exploration and deciding which object should be offered. Players should inspect the room before committing to a choice, because some useful items are hidden in less obvious places. The crafting area should also be checked after collecting compatible objects, since combinations can open endings that cannot be reached with ordinary gifts.
To see everything, players need to complete multiple runs rather than stop after the first ending. Each gift reveals another result and often provides additional information about Penelope and Galatea. A single ending can be reached quickly, while finding all ten requires searching the room, trying different items, using both crafting recipes, and repeating the summoning scenario until every outcome has been discovered.
