Beencremental starts with a queen bee gathering pollen from flowers and gradually turns that simple task into a much larger hive operation. The queen follows the player’s mouse across the field, collecting pollen before returning it for processing. Instead of converting the resource directly into honey, the pollen is dropped into a Plinko machine. Where it lands affects the resulting production, connecting the incremental progression to a system that involves both upgrades and chance.
From Pollen to Honey
Honey is the resource that drives expansion. Producing more of it allows the hive to improve and makes it possible to develop a larger swarm of bees. As progression continues, the player relies less on a single queen and increasingly on the growing number of bees working around her. Flowers remain the starting source of pollen, so expanding production means improving how quickly the swarm can collect resources and how effectively those resources are processed afterward.
Improving the Plinko Machine
Make-a-wish Dandelions provide another part of the progression system. They are used to improve the Plinko machine, allowing honey production to increase much faster. The hive also develops through a Tech Tree, giving the player additional improvements as more resources are accumulated. These systems gradually turn the early collection loop into a larger incremental setup built around increasing output.
The main gameplay in Beencremental includes:
- guiding the queen through groups of flowers;
- collecting pollen;
- dropping pollen into the Plinko machine;
- producing honey from successful drops;
- using Dandelions to improve the Plinko system;
- purchasing upgrades through the Tech Tree;
- increasing the size and productivity of the bee swarm;
- progressing through seasonal areas.
The game’s progression is tied to the four seasons. The swarm is intended to move through Spring and continue into other seasonal areas while consuming the flowers found along the way. Reaching later stages therefore depends on building enough production to keep the hive growing instead of repeatedly collecting the same amount of pollen by hand.
Growing the Swarm
Beencremental does not use combat, character classes, or a traditional story campaign. The main objective is continuous growth. A typical session moves between gathering pollen, converting it into honey, choosing upgrades, and returning to the field with a more productive hive. Each improvement increases how quickly the next upgrade can be reached, creating the usual incremental cycle of small gains turning into much larger numbers. The long-term goal is to build an increasingly powerful swarm and continue advancing through the four seasons as the hive’s production expands.
