BLEACH Mirrors High tells an original story set after the Thousand-Year Blood War. A lone soul awakens in Karakura Town and begins life as a Soul Reaper. The narrative introduces Shirin Migishima and Shirane Sanari alongside familiar characters such as Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, Renji Abarai, and Byakuya Kuchiki. It continues the setting instead of retelling earlier BLEACH arcs.
Becoming a Soul Reaper
Players create a Soul Reaper by adjusting the face, hair, body, eyes, colours, and other details. The Zanpakuto can also be customized through its blade, guard, hilt, decorations, effects, and combat style. Story missions connect the created character with members of the 13 Court Guard Squads and reveal a new conflict following the war. Progress is organised through narrative scenes and battles.
Building a Three-Person Team
Combat takes place in 3D arenas with teams of three characters. Players control the active fighter, dodge, use normal strikes, and select Action Cards for stronger techniques. Normal attacks fill the Draw Gauge and provide new cards. Card affinities counter one another, making attack selection important when an enemy prepares a move.
The main battle systems include:
- Action Cards for individual techniques;
- Chain Attacks that bring teammates into combinations;
- Link Attacks created through connected moves;
- Mortal Blows with character-specific attacks;
- Break Attacks used against staggered enemies;
- Soul Drive for coordinated team damage.
Playing the same card type as an opponent can activate a Clash. The game displays success chances for available cards, and the player chooses one to contest the attack. Winning creates an opportunity to counter, while failure can leave the fighter exposed. Team composition affects Spiritual Pressure, damage, defensive support, and available skills. Inactive characters can enter through Chain Attacks or protect the current fighter.
Choosing the Right Attack
To play effectively, create a team with complementary abilities and card types. Use normal attacks to refill the Draw Gauge, watch enemy warnings, and respond with an advantageous card. Save Mortal Blows and Soul Drive for openings or staggered opponents. Avatar and Zanpakuto customization determines the player character’s appearance and fighting approach, while developing other Soul Reapers provides more team combinations for later story battles.
