Obsession shapes nearly every route in Bloody Flower of Teyvat, a Genshin Impact fangame that reimagines familiar characters through a darker visual novel structure. The player becomes the center of several separate stories where affection can turn into control, jealousy, isolation, or violence. There is no single linear campaign with one ending. Instead, the game is divided into character routes, each with its own scenario, choices, interactive sections, and multiple conclusions.

Character Routes and Separate Stories

The available routes include Wanderer, Xiao, Kazuha, Lumine, Venti, Tartaglia, Flins, Lohen, and Kinich. Each route uses a different setting and conflict: Wanderer locks the protagonist inside a laboratory, Xiao becomes increasingly protective, Kazuha focuses on control during dates and social situations, Lumine leads the player into an escape involving a hotel and casino, while Venti’s route takes place during a trip to Paris. The number of endings varies by route, with many of the larger stories containing 15 or 16 different outcomes.

Choices, Minigames, and Route Mechanics

Bloody Flower of Teyvat mixes visual novel decisions with interactive sequences such as:

  •         exploring Wanderer’s laboratory against a timer;
  •         examining chats on a laptop during Xiao’s route;
  •         playing a claw machine in Kazuha’s story;
  •         working at an ice cream stand and gambling in Lumine’s route;
  •         taking Polaroid photos during Venti’s Paris trip;
  •         completing a fishing minigame with Tartaglia;
  •         playing checkers and navigating a maze in Flins’ route;
  •         sorting chests and completing a wood-chopping QTE with Kinich.

These sections change the pace between dialogue scenes and can affect route progression or specific outcomes.

Endings, Modes, and Progress

The game does not use traditional numbered levels. Progress is measured through completed routes, unlocked endings, achievements, and hidden content. An ending gallery records the conclusions already found, while character cards display completion progress. Players can also customize the main menu with three preferred characters and use a built-in music player.

Before starting, the player can choose between Soft Mode and Hard Mode. The story itself remains the same, but the presentation changes: Soft Mode reduces explicit violence and keeps intimate scenes off-screen, while Hard Mode includes more detailed descriptions, blood, gore, and mature content. Completing Bloody Flower of Teyvat therefore means replaying routes, testing different decisions, finding secret endings, and learning how each character reacts when the protagonist chooses to cooperate, resist, lie, escape, or challenge their increasingly obsessive behavior.
