Pet Vet puts the player in charge of an animal clinic where every new patient arrives with a problem that needs to be identified and treated. Dogs, cats, rabbits, horses, ponies, and piglets can all visit the practice, and their conditions range from minor problems to illnesses that require several steps to solve. Instead of simply selecting a cure, the player examines symptoms, makes a diagnosis, chooses the correct treatment, and then watches the animal recover.

Instead of simply selecting a cure, the player examines symptoms, makes a diagnosis, chooses the correct treatment, and then watches the animal recover.

Examine and Diagnose Each Animal

A typical appointment begins by investigating what is wrong with the patient. Different veterinary tools help reveal symptoms, after which the player must decide which illness matches what has been found. The game contains more than 100 ailments, so later cases require more attention than the first few visits. Correct treatment improves the clinic’s reputation, while successful appointments help the veterinary practice grow.

Care for Animals Outside the Clinic

Veterinary work is only part of the routine. Animals can also be fed, played with, trained, and taken through activities that are not directly connected to medical treatment. Horses can practice jumping and be taken for rides, while dogs and pigs can learn commands such as sit, lie down, roll over, and fetch.

The main activities include:

  • examining animals for visible symptoms;
  • diagnosing different illnesses and injuries;
  • selecting treatments and veterinary tools;
  • shopping for food, toys, and medical supplies;
  • training dogs, pigs, and horses;
  • building a better reputation with pet owners.

The clinic therefore develops through both medical work and general animal care. Players need supplies for future appointments, but spending time with recovered animals also provides additional activities between cases.

Grow the Veterinary Practice

Pet Vet offers both Story and Freestyle modes, allowing the clinic to be approached either through structured progression or with fewer restrictions. There are three difficulty levels, and progress gradually introduces more demanding cases as the player becomes familiar with diagnosis and treatment.

The main loop stays focused on running the practice: receive an animal, inspect its condition, determine what is wrong, provide treatment, and prepare for the next patient. As the clinic’s reputation improves, the player gains more opportunities to work with different animals and manage a broader range of medical situations.
