The Scale of the Universe 2 presents the universe as one continuous size comparison, allowing the player to move from extremely small particles to structures that span enormous regions of space. There is no story, character progression, or traditional objective. Instead, the game is built around exploration and comparison. By moving along the scale, players can see how objects from biology, technology, everyday life, astronomy, and physics relate to one another in size.

Moving Through the Scale

The main interaction is zooming in and out. Moving toward smaller measurements reveals objects such as human cells, bacteria, molecules, atoms, atomic nuclei, and subatomic particles. Travelling in the opposite direction gradually introduces people, buildings, mountains, planets, stars, nebulae, galaxies, and larger cosmic structures. Objects appear at their approximate scale, making it possible to compare things that would normally never be seen together.

Objects and Information

Many items can be selected to open a short information panel. These descriptions explain what the object is and often provide its approximate dimensions or other useful facts. The game includes both familiar objects and scientific structures that are difficult or impossible to observe directly.

Players can explore examples such as:

  • animals, people, and everyday objects;
  • cells, bacteria, and viruses;
  • molecules, atoms, and smaller particles;
  • buildings and geographical formations;
  • planets, moons, and asteroids;
  • stars, nebulae, and galaxies;
  • galaxy groups and large-scale cosmic structures.

No Traditional Levels

The Scale of the Universe 2 does not divide its content into numbered stages. The entire experience takes place on a continuous scale, and players can move freely in either direction at any time. There are no scores, enemies, timers, lives, upgrades, or missions to complete. Progress simply means reaching another range of sizes and discovering what objects exist there.

The game is mainly about understanding relative scale. A player can compare a red blood cell with a grain of sand, see how Earth relates to larger planets, or continue outward until individual stars become small compared with galaxies. Moving back and forth between distant parts of the scale helps show how many orders of magnitude separate familiar objects from the smallest particles and the largest known structures. The main activity is therefore observation: zoom, select objects, read their information, and explore the enormous range of sizes represented in the universe.
