The Loopler is a single-player roguelite deckbuilder where a slot car repeatedly circles a track while the player constructs a scoring system around it. There is no story campaign, protagonist, or narrative objective. The car handles the driving automatically, leaving the player to decide which cards to draft, where to install gates, and which passive charms will improve the current run. The objective is to combine these systems efficiently enough to keep increasing the score and eventually pursue the game’s Infinity goal.

Building a Machine Around the Car

Cards form the foundation of each build. Their effects can increase multipliers, trigger other cards, create ghost cars, produce jackpots, or modify other parts of the run. Instead of simply choosing the card with the largest number, the player needs to consider how often an effect will activate and whether it supports the rest of the setup. As more cards are collected, individual bonuses can begin triggering one another and create much larger scoring chains.

A run can involve:

  • drafting from 50 available cards;
  • placing up to different combinations of 30 gates;
  • collecting from 70 passive charms;
  • upgrading cards and gates;
  • creating chains between multiple effects;
  • selecting from nine cars with different properties;
  • playing on nine track layouts;
  • attempting daily and weekly challenges.

Gate Order Can Change the Result

Gates add another layer because they occupy specific positions around the track. Every time the slot car passes through one, its effect can interact with cards, multipliers, or other gates. The order therefore matters. Two useful gates may produce very different results depending on which one activates first, so rearranging the track can be as important as drafting a new card.

Runs Encourage Different Scoring Strategies

The Loopler does not use conventional numbered levels. Instead, complete runs are built around tracks, cars, difficulty settings, and increasingly powerful combinations. There are five difficulty modes, allowing the same basic systems to become more demanding. Different cars and track layouts also affect how a build develops, encouraging players to try alternatives instead of relying on one fixed setup every time.

There is no direct racing against opponents and no need to manually steer through corners. The challenge comes from designing an efficient system while the vehicle continues looping. Players can concentrate on high scores, extreme speed, frequent triggers, passive multipliers, or unusual card combinations. Daily and weekly challenges add specific setups to revisit, while optional leaderboards provide another target for score-focused runs. Long-term play is mainly about understanding how cards, gates, charms, cars, and track layouts interact and then using that knowledge to create increasingly powerful combinations.
