Passing Cards Around the Table

Every player keeps five cards in their hand and receives a personal draw pile. All participants play at the same time rather than waiting for individual turns. Players take cards from the pile on their right and discard unwanted cards face down onto the pile to their left. This creates a continuous flow of cards around the table. When three identical cards are collected, the complete set is placed in the player’s score pile.

When Matching Sets Start Battles

Ordinary sets of three matching cards are worth one point. Sets made from three identical Battle Cards provide two points and immediately interrupt the card-collecting phase. The player places the set in front of them and announces the corresponding battle. Everyone stops passing cards until the result has been determined. The two foam burritos should remain in the center of the playing area so that participants can reach them during these events.

The available battles work as follows:

  • Burrito Brawl involves the players sitting directly beside the person who played the set.
  • Burrito War includes every player except the person who announced it.
  • Burrito Duel allows the active player to select any two participants.
  • A Brawl or War ends when an eligible player is hit.
  • Duel participants stand back-to-back, take three steps, turn, and throw.
  • The battle loser receives one Burrito Bruise worth minus one point.

Two Rounds Decide the Winner

Throw Throw Burrito does not have numbered levels, maps, or unlockable stages. Its progression is divided into two rounds. The first round ends when all six Burrito Bruise tokens have been distributed. Players count one point for each ordinary set, two points for each Battle Card set, and subtract one point for every Bruise. The participant with the highest score receives the Fear Me Badge. Ties are resolved through an additional battle.

The cards and Bruise tokens are then prepared for the second round, which follows the same rules. If the player holding the Fear Me Badge also wins this round, that player wins the complete game. If another participant earns the highest second-round score, the two round winners enter a final Burrito Duel. Effective play requires quick card sorting, attention to Battle Cards, and awareness of the foam burritos. Players should keep their hands organized, pass unusable cards without delay, and leave enough open space around the table for safe throwing and dodging.
