Witness the Dark: Episode 1 – Bloody Burger is a first-person psychological horror game centered on Kate, a woman placed under witness protection after surviving a serial killer known as the Artist. Her new routine in Miracle Miles seems simple: sleep at a motel and work night shifts at Billy’s Burger. The situation quickly changes when children disappear, customers begin acting suspiciously, and Kate’s hallucinations return. The entire episode builds toward a known outcome: before the night is over, several people inside the restaurant will be dead.

Working the Night Shift

Part of the game is structured around ordinary restaurant duties. Kate takes orders, prepares food, serves customers, and manages the shift while new characters enter Billy’s Burger. These tasks are not separate from the story. Conversations and unusual customer behavior gradually provide clues about the town and make the routine increasingly uncomfortable.

Hallucinations Lead Somewhere Else

Kate’s episodes repeatedly distort what she sees. Strange apparitions appear around her, and some sequences pull her into another reality where trapped souls must be recovered. This makes it difficult to know which events are actually happening inside the restaurant. Exploration extends beyond the dining area as Kate searches Billy’s Burger and its surroundings for information about the disappearances.

Players can:

  • take customer orders;
  • prepare and serve food;
  • explore the restaurant and nearby areas;
  • investigate suspicious customers;
  • follow clues connected to missing children;
  • experience hallucinations and supernatural sequences;
  • recover trapped souls during otherworldly sections.

Three Days Before the Killings

The story is framed around the final three days leading to the deaths at Billy’s Burger. Instead of hiding the result, the game tells players in advance that Kate will kill seven people and then disappear. The mystery is therefore about discovering what drove her to that point and determining how much of what she experienced can actually be trusted.

There are no traditional levels or long upgrade systems. Progress comes from completing shifts, exploring, interacting with customers, and moving through increasingly disturbing story events. Bloody Burger alternates between work simulation and psychological horror, using Kate’s unreliable perception to turn an ordinary restaurant shift into an investigation of disappearances, supernatural encounters, and the events behind the coming massacre.
