Starting With Simple Tools
At the beginning, the player handles most of the work manually. Hay can be moved and processed using tools such as shovels, buckets, wheelbarrows, pitchforks, vacuums, and a metal detector. Removed hay can be sold, providing money for better equipment. As the amount of hay increases, manual work becomes less efficient, encouraging the player to build systems that can handle larger quantities automatically.
The main gameplay includes:
- digging through a haystack containing millions of strands;
- searching for hidden needles;
- selling collected hay;
- buying better manual tools;
- placing conveyor belts and sorting machines;
- using robots and drones for automation;
- processing hay into products such as bales, pellets, paper, and eco bricks;
- unlocking upgrades through a large technology tree.
Turning the Warehouse Into a Factory
Automation becomes a major part of progression. The player can place belts, balers, scanners, robotic arms, hay wrappers, and other machines, connect them to power, and build production lines. Hay that initially has little value can later be processed into more profitable products. The technology tree contains more than 300 upgrades covering production speed, factory expansion, efficiency, and new machinery. There are no conventional numbered levels. Instead, progression comes from receiving larger piles, expanding the factory, and unlocking better ways to process them.
The Needles Remain the Final Objective
Despite the growing factory, the central goal never changes: the player still needs to find the needles hidden inside the hay. The game suggests that collecting all of them is connected to its larger mystery, although it does not clearly explain what happens afterward. Clues are tied to the game’s story and trailers, leaving the final result deliberately uncertain.
A normal session therefore moves from manual work toward large-scale automation. The player clears hay, sells materials, buys equipment, builds production systems, unlocks technology, and searches for needles along the way. There is no combat or traditional mission campaign. The main challenge is creating an increasingly efficient factory capable of processing a huge haystack while continuing to investigate the strange situation that brought the player into the warehouse.
