Kaizo Knight is a Deltarune difficulty mod by EnderCat8 that replaces the Roaring Knight battle from Chapter 3 with a substantially modified version of the encounter. It does not introduce a separate campaign or a new set of explorable areas. Instead, the mod keeps the Chapter 3 context and rebuilds one boss fight with altered attack patterns, additional sequences, and tighter survival sections. The result is intended for players who already understand the original Knight battle and want a version that demands more precise movement.
The Original Boss Fight Is Reworked
The battle still uses Deltarune’s turn-based structure. During the party’s turn, Kris, Susie, and Ralsei can attack, defend, heal, or use available abilities. Enemy turns switch to bullet-hell gameplay, where the player controls the SOUL inside the battle box and avoids incoming attacks. Kaizo Knight changes this second part considerably by adding new patterns and harder versions of existing Knight attacks, including more complicated sword formations, horizontal strikes, combined sequences, and a revised final phase.
The mod’s main features include:
- a modified Roaring Knight boss encounter;
- new and reworked bullet patterns;
- faster and denser attack sequences;
- several attacks based on unused or expanded ideas;
- a practice mode for learning individual patterns;
- the usual Deltarune party commands and TP system;
- a RadiantShard reward for defeating the modified boss.
Practice Mode Lets Players Learn Specific Attacks
Kaizo Knight is one boss encounter rather than a series of numbered levels. Because individual attacks can require repeated practice, the mod includes a training option that allows players to work on particular patterns instead of replaying the entire fight every time. Community players use this mode to learn movement routes and timing before attempting a complete clear.
Dealing Damage Is Part of Progression
Survival alone is not enough to finish the fight. The player must also damage the Knight to advance toward the final attack sequence, which means turns have to be divided between defense, healing, TP management, and offensive actions. Simply waiting through enemy phases will cause the battle to continue rather than automatically reaching its conclusion.
Kaizo Knight therefore plays more like a concentrated boss challenge than a complete standalone game. There are no new towns, exploration chapters, equipment progression systems, or multiple stages to clear. The objective is to prepare the party, learn the redesigned attack patterns, survive each enemy phase, deal enough damage to move the battle forward, and defeat the modified Roaring Knight.
