A football club in Kitman is managed from the rooms behind the stadium rather than from the pitch. The player works as the club’s kitman, taking care of equipment, cleaning facilities, preparing players, and solving problems before and during matches. The goal is to help a small club move through the football leagues and eventually compete at a higher level. There is no traditional story campaign built around cutscenes; progression comes from improving the club and keeping the squad ready for each match.

Locker Room Duties

Daily work includes polishing boots, repairing damaged shirts, mopping floors, cleaning bathrooms, and keeping drinks cold for the players. Resources are limited, so tasks need to be managed according to what the team requires. Player fitness also matters, which means the kitman’s work affects more than the appearance of the locker room. Equipment and facilities need to be maintained while preparing the squad for match day.

Managing the Team

The player can influence football decisions as well as handle maintenance work. Scouting allows new players to be considered for the squad, while team selection determines who starts a match. Formations can also be changed, giving the player control over how the club approaches games. This creates a management layer alongside the first-person job simulation.

The main activities include:

  •         cleaning boots, floors, bathrooms, and equipment;
  •         sewing and repairing damaged kits;
  •         keeping drinks and supplies ready;
  •         monitoring player fitness;
  •         scouting new footballers;
  •         choosing the starting lineup and formation;
  •         solving equipment problems during matches;
  •         upgrading club facilities and work equipment.

Match days introduce new problems while the football game is taking place. Players may need replacement kit, repaired equipment, or other support without much time to prepare. Handling these problems quickly helps keep the team functioning during the match. Kitman can be played alone or cooperatively, with up to four kitmen sharing the workload and dividing tasks around the stadium.

Club Progress

Advancement is based on taking the club from the amateur leagues toward higher levels of football. Improvements unlock more advanced equipment that makes some jobs easier, while the backrooms can be decorated with items connected to the club’s achievements. The kitman character can also be customized. Progress therefore combines practical work, team management, match-day support, and club upgrades rather than traditional numbered levels.
