A failed exorcism pulls Father John Ward back into a chain of demonic events in FAITH: The Unholy Trinity. The story begins after John returns to the Martin family home, where an exorcism ended in death one year earlier. From there, the game expands into a larger conflict involving possessed people, cultists, haunted locations, and a plan to summon a powerful demon. The full game is divided into three chapters, with John remaining at the center of the story as his faith, memories, and understanding of what happened continue to change.

Three Connected Chapters

Chapter I sends John back to the Martin house to finish what he started and confront Amy Martin. Chapter II moves him into new locations including a cemetery and areas connected to a hidden cult, while Father Garcia becomes more important to the story. Chapter III continues the investigation and pushes John toward a larger confrontation with the cult and the demon they are trying to summon. Each chapter contains its own exploration sections, enemies, boss encounters, notes, and multiple endings.

Crucifix, Exorcisms, and Exploration

The gameplay uses a small number of mechanics, but they are important throughout the entire trilogy:

  •         explore forests, houses, churches, cemeteries, apartments, and cult areas;
  •         raise the crucifix to repel or damage demons;
  •         exorcise possessed objects;
  •         collect notes that explain events and provide clues;
  •         avoid enemies that can kill John quickly;
  •         complete boss encounters;
  •         discover hidden objectives and alternate endings;
  •         unlock additional content by completing specific conditions.

The crucifix is John’s main defensive tool. Holding it toward certain enemies slows or harms them, while possessed objects can be cleansed to reveal notes or open new information about the story.

Endings and Extra Modes

FAITH: The Unholy Trinity does not use conventional numbered levels. Progress is divided into chapters, locations, boss fights, and ending conditions. Choices and hidden actions can change how individual chapters conclude, and some secret outcomes require performing tasks that are easy to miss during a normal playthrough.

Completing the good endings in all three chapters and finishing the Chapter II prologue can unlock Survival Mode. This extra mode places the player in a new environment and sends waves of different demons against John, with ten possible ranks awarded at the end of a successful run. There are also additional unlockable modes, visual effects, and secret content. Playing effectively mainly requires learning enemy behavior, knowing when to keep the crucifix raised, searching locations for notes, and paying attention to details that can change which ending becomes available.
