Ayla Solace built her public image around emotional songs about a woman she once loved, but her audience gradually began treating her as a fixed “lesbian icon.” The Community Notes Are Wrong begins when a photo of Ayla kissing a male barista goes viral, publicly revealing that she is bisexual. From that moment, the story follows her attempts to deal with online harassment, biphobia, media attention, pressure from her agency, and the effect the controversy has on her personal relationships.

Ayla, Her Career, and the People Around Her

The game is a visual novel, so most progression happens through dialogue, choices, and character interactions. Ayla is an established protagonist rather than a blank player avatar, and her personality, career, and history are already part of the story. Two major relationship routes currently focus on Levi and Cheri, while other characters such as Jae, Romy, and Vivian also take part in the larger narrative surrounding Ayla’s public and private life.

Social Media as Gameplay

One of the main interactive systems is built around Chirper, the game’s social media platform. The player does more than simply read posts, because social media decisions can affect which route the story follows and how later events develop. Important elements include:

  •         selecting dialogue responses;
  •         reading and managing social media posts;
  •         completing Chirper Queue sections;
  •         making choices that influence route progression;
  •         following Levi or Cheri’s story branch;
  •         reaching early bad endings through specific decisions;
  •         viewing CG scenes and additional side-story content.

The third Chirper Queue sequence is especially important because it determines whether the story moves into Levi’s or Cheri’s route. Other choices also contribute to ending conditions later in the story.

Routes, Endings, and Story Progression

The current story begins with a common route before splitting into separate relationship paths. The available content includes Chapter 1 of Levi’s route, Chapter 1 of Cheri’s route, two early-exit bad endings, and Romy’s side story, which takes place before the main events. This structure means the game does not use traditional levels; progression is divided into narrative sections, route branches, and endings instead.

Playing The Community Notes Are Wrong mainly requires reading carefully and deciding how Ayla should respond to both personal conversations and public pressure. Some choices affect relationships directly, while others shape the social media side of the story. There is no combat, exploration map, or inventory system. The challenge comes from deciding how Ayla handles the conflict between her real identity, the expectations of her audience, her agency’s concerns, and the people she may become closer to as the story continues.
