Drakantos is an online action RPG set in the fantasy world of Eldras. Instead of creating one character around a traditional class system, players choose from more than 20 distinct heroes. Each hero has unique combat mechanics, abilities, personality traits, and a role in the larger story. The narrative is presented through exploration and cutscenes while players travel through the world, complete missions, and learn more about the characters and conflicts of Eldras.

Heroes and Combat

Combat happens in real time and changes depending on the selected hero. Different heroes support different approaches to fighting, while abilities can be modified with orbs and artifacts. This allows the same hero to be developed into several builds instead of having only one fixed setup. Players can fight alone or form groups for cooperative content.

Dungeons and Progression

Dungeons and missions change over time, introducing different combinations of enemies, bosses, traps, resources, objectives, and special events. The main gameplay activities include:

•         selecting and leveling different heroes;
•         fighting more than 150 enemy types;
•         completing changing dungeon missions;
•         defeating bosses;
•         collecting rare equipment;
•         modifying abilities with orbs and artifacts;
•         crafting and trading items;
•         joining guild activities;
•         participating in PvP battles and tournaments.

World and Additional Activities

Eldras includes a day-and-night cycle that can affect enemies and challenges. Outside combat, players can collect pets, unlock skins, titles, icons, and emotes, trade items through the market, and join guilds. A housing system also allows players to obtain land and decorate it with different furniture styles. Global events and minigames can appear at certain times and provide activities outside normal dungeon runs.

The main progression loop consists of choosing a hero, completing missions, gaining levels, collecting stronger equipment, and changing abilities to create a preferred build. Dynamic dungeon conditions mean repeated missions can contain different enemies or objectives. PvP uses separate competitive modes with equalized statistics, placing more emphasis on hero abilities, positioning, and team strategy.
