SWAPMEAT is a fast roguelite shooter where defeating an alien can immediately change what your character is capable of doing. You play as Squishy, a shape-shifting operative working for Rangus Corp and traveling through hostile alien worlds. Enemies are valuable because their heads, torsos, and legs can be harvested and equipped during combat. Each part provides its own ability, so an opponent that was dangerous a few seconds ago can become the source of your next upgrade.

Your Enemies Are Also Your Equipment

Body swapping makes every encounter part of character building. New legs might improve movement or provide a powerful slam, while another head can completely change the way you attack. There is no need to wait until the end of a mission to modify the build. Parts can be changed while fighting, allowing the player to react to whatever enemies or objectives appear next. A combination that works well against a large group may be replaced when a tougher target requires different abilities.

Build With Whatever Drops

Runs are designed around improvisation rather than guaranteeing the same upgrades every time. Enemy types, random events, available parts, and weapons can change, forcing the player to make useful combinations from what is actually found. Combat remains aggressive, with waves of aliens attacking while objectives have to be completed under pressure. Weapons carried by enemies can also become part of your own arsenal.

A run can involve:

  •         stealing heads, torsos, and legs from defeated aliens
  •         combining three body parts into a new setup
  •         collecting and changing weapons
  •         dodging dense groups of incoming attacks
  •         completing objectives before time becomes a problem
  •         adapting a build when stronger enemies appear
  •         gathering research for permanent improvements

Bring Something Back From the Chaos

Defeat ends the current attempt, but progress does not disappear completely. Research collected during runs can be taken back to headquarters and spent on weapon unlocks, perks, and permanent improvements. This creates two layers of progression: temporary body combinations assembled during a mission and long-term upgrades that make later attempts stronger.

SWAPMEAT constantly encourages the player to abandon comfortable strategies. A useful alien part may appear in the middle of a fight, creating a reason to replace an ability that worked perfectly moments earlier. Different planets, enemy combinations, and random events keep that decision changing between runs. The result is a shooter where survival depends on quickly recognizing what the battlefield offers, stealing the best pieces from defeated enemies, and turning their own strange biology against whatever attacks next.
