YRG Cobbleverse is a multiplayer Minecraft event built around Cobblemon, a mod that adds Pokémon-style catching, training, and battles to Minecraft. The server was created for YourRAGE and a large group of participating streamers. Players enter the same Minecraft world, choose a starter, catch Pokémon, build teams, and progress through gyms while interacting with other participants. There is no traditional scripted story. Instead, the event creates its own progression through exploration, battles, alliances, rivalries, and the final competitive stages.
Building a Team Before the Next Gym
Players explore the Minecraft world looking for wild Pokémon that can be caught and added to their team. The Pokédex can be used to scan Pokémon and view information about creatures that have already been registered. Training is restricted by a level-cap system. At the beginning, Pokémon cannot simply be raised to the maximum level. Players need to defeat gyms and earn badges to increase the level cap, eventually allowing stronger teams to be developed.
The main gameplay includes:
- choosing and training a starter Pokémon;
- catching wild Pokémon;
- using the Pokédex to register and inspect them;
- building a team with different types and moves;
- challenging gyms and earning badges;
- increasing the Pokémon level cap;
- battling other players;
- exploring the Minecraft world for resources and useful locations;
- preparing a team for the later tournament.
Minecraft Exploration Supports the Pokémon Progression
YRG Cobbleverse does not use conventional numbered levels. Progress comes from gym badges, team development, and access to stronger Pokémon. Minecraft mechanics remain part of the experience, so players can travel through the world, gather materials, craft items such as Poké Balls, and use the map to locate important destinations. The underlying Cobbleverse setup also includes Pokémon Centers, Poké Marts, trainers, custom structures, and Pokémon from multiple generations.
Gym Battles Lead Toward the Competition
The event structure gives players a reason to improve quickly instead of simply collecting Pokémon without an objective. Gym victories raise the available level ceiling and prepare teams for stronger opponents. Players can also challenge each other directly, test their team compositions, and adjust moves or Pokémon before later battles.
The 2026 YRG Cobbleverse event involved around 100 streamers and culminated in a competitive tournament. This makes the main loop different from ordinary Minecraft survival: exploration and crafting support Pokémon training, while gym progression and player battles determine how prepared each participant is for the final competition.
